September 1st When the King of Babylon had conquered much of the world of that time and sat upon his throne saying, "I by my own mighty power, have built this beautiful city," things changed. For seven years he was as a cow eating grass and living outdoors, then realizing that GOD is in control proclaimed, "I honor the KING of HEAVEN, the JUDGE of ALL, whom every act is right and good. For HE is able to take those who walk proudly and push them into the dust!" When we think that we have accomplished so much 'on our own' and 'by our own strength, we should look at the fall we are going to take. For there is nothing that is out of the control of GOD! Everything that we do is done by the STRENGTH and GOODNESS of GOD. Can we take credit for what GOD has done? We have failed to put credit where it is due. We generally take credit for things, just as the King did. Perhaps seven years of living as an animal will correct our attitude as well. Or maybe we can take that example and correct our thoughts before that experience happens to us. Thank GOD that we are NOT in control and that GOD IS. HE has even the world powers today doing exactly what HE wants. And they think they are in control, Hà. GOD bless you.
August 31 As I was looking for a verse to use this morning, I opened to a very plain, yet strong saying. "How privileged you are to see what you have seen," JESUS told the disciples, because of the miracles and the fact that they were with the SON of GOD! But while we may feel like we live noneventful lives, we see some really amazing things. Things that cannot be explained other than miracles! For those that trust GOD, they appear more often than to non-believers, but we all have those moments of utter wonder! So even today we can take a verse that may sound meaningless at first glance and see the GLORY of GOD in it and our lives. How privileged we are to see what we have seen! May our eyes continue to witness the wonder that GOD sets ahead of us. GOD bless you.
August 30 It is interesting to look at the twelve disciples and their backgrounds. Some are JESUS' cousins, fishermen. One a despised tax collector and WHO doesn't dislike them? Some were unknown. One was a member of a political party that wanted to overthrow the government by violence. And one a betrayer. Not a very well-rounded group, but together they made up a group of people that CHANGED the WORLD to this very day. We may feel unworthy or not qualified to witness for CHRIST, but we are no different than the fishermen, tax collectors and rebels that JESUS called. Together we will change the future! But they and WE must come to CHRIST as a servant that is willing to do what CHRIST would. Serving our own nature makes us apart of the world. It is when we serve CHRIST that we become the saints of the future. Like those that have served in the past, our notoriety will come long after our life has ended. Our name may never be remembered by the next generations, but GOD will never forget it! In fact, HE has it WRITTEN in the BOOK of LIFE! May we search to be the disciples of our age, in our service to GOD. GOD bless you.
August 29 While reading this morning, I realized that when JESUS asked James and John to 'come follow me', it was the only time that their father Zebedee was present. From that point on only their mother was noted to be present from time to time. I can imagine that when JESUS and the sons left the father and hired men, the father yelled, 'If you leave me at a time like this you don't need to bother coming back'! It has always been said that a family may be split apart and this may be an example. Yet, the words, "At last the time has come! GOD'S KINGDOM is near. Turn from your sins and act on this glorious news," has rippled through time. Today it lands on our ears. We can either react or reject. The futures book will contain the results of our choices. Our story is still being written and the answer to follow requires our action. We can be those who are never mentioned or the ones that followed when called. May our name be written as those that acted when called. GOD be with you.
August 28 Many of the people that I have met while hunting are preparing to make the trip to the mountains in search of the big game. How I miss those trips and the wonders that GOD provides in the beauty there. Through the years there has been plenty of miraculous events that changed my life. Not just the excitement of being with my grandson when he arrowed both elk and bear or with my cousin that was to be my saviour, but the pure splendor of witnessing GOD'S creation and being aware that we are under HIS control and so very weak on our own. Those who cannot return miss it deeply and those that have never been want to. Sometimes it takes new scenery to allow us to feel the MIGHTY HAND of GOD, but HE is everywhere! Stop and see the miracles around us right now, experience the wonders that we often overlook just because they have become so common in our lives. Each day opens new opportunities to witness the GLORY of GOD. We just need to open our eyes to see them. GOD bless you.
August 27 The watchman that sees the destruction coming and does not warn the people will die with them. The watchman that warns the people and they ignore the warning is not guilty of their destruction. WE are the WATCHMAN! We know that doom is rising above the horizon. Those that remain silent will be just as guilty as those around them. WE are the WATCHMAN! It is the warning that can save them all, if only they would listen. Perhaps the warnings will pay off when the disaster is about to consume but the way to SALVATION has been told. TOO many 'christians' remain silent, doing nothing to tell of the doom coming just ahead, their judgement will be surprising! With our mouths shut and doing nothing, we remain a worthless watchman! WE are the WATCHMAN! May GOD open our hearts and mouths to warn the masses of the impending doom. The attacks have already begun. The enemy is at the door. WE are the WATCHMAN. GOD bless you.
August 26 Jesus was telling HIS disciples' the signs of HIS great return. That wars would be common; famine and earthquakes would occur in many places. These things would happen and that GODS people, the Jews, would be hated, killed and tortured, all over the world. Today the news will report on the devastation of an earthquake. It may report on the famines of many nations or disregard it because of how often it has become. We are still reeling from the effects of covid as new 'bugs' appear on the horizon. The hatred of the Jewish nation grows worldwide, even in our nation as groups are openly torturing, hating and killing the Jews. It is not a coincidence that these things are happening! These very things have been proclaimed for our benefit for ages. A warning of the approaching time that is disregarded by the masses. Are you a wise and faithful servant of the LORD? You have been given the task of managing HIS household. Will HE return to find you faithfully doing HIS work or wasting time and scoffing at HIS WORD? Our time draws nearer with each passing day, there remains no room for unbelief. Yet darkness covers the world. Be a light that can be seen in the Ever-darkening world today. GOD bless you.
August 25 "To them the things of GOD are no more important than any daily task." We see that games and work have taken over the time that GOD has set aside for us to rest. There are more people at a game than at Church and TOO many are looking to seek a financial gain on the day we are to WORSHIP. There are many gods that have been introduced to us and we have embraced them with open arms, ignoring the ONE that made us and the world we live in. We pray that our team wins and forget the widow. We walk past the homeless to our comfortable abode. We have separated ourselves from both GOD and the reality around us. We are living in a selfmade vision of heaven. But that heaven is just an illusion that keeps vanishing as we nearly obtain it. The only thing that is for certain is that GOD will JUDGE! Our lifestyle shows our FAITH and true HOPE of what lies ahead. Our actions are the true outcry from our heart. What is our GOD? Where is our true FAITH? Is it in HIM or lost in the world? May we see our faults and turn toward our MAKER. God bless you.
August 24 Just like the deer that walked through the damp concrete, we leave behind us a undullable trail that is easily followed. We have no idea of what we have left behind or we may think that it cannot be seen or is hidden. But it is there. Plainly visible for all to see and follow. The best that we could do is to have our path turn toward GOD. Deliberately following HIS pathway and turning away from our old self. That new life also leaves a path that can be followed and hopefully the ones that we leave behind will follow our upward climb. We are leaving behind a undullable pathway that others are looking at. Make sure that it leads away from eternal death. GOD bless you.
August 23 Yesterday I took some new arrows and other goodies to some boys that were wanting to bow hunt this year. They had been shooting their bows and had sighted them in and were doing great. That surprised me as they only had 2 arrows between them, but they shared and helped each other. At another house the family had poured cement the day before and that night deer had walked through it and left behind their tracks in the wet cement. It was funny to follow the tracks as they had even gone into the building to investigate the new surroundings. It made me think that we may want to investigate new things and get ourselves into trouble. But when we work together with our brothers in FAITH, we can do some pretty amazing things. All of life points to GOD, why do we stray from HIM? Just like a cow, we think the grass on the other side of the fence is better, even when we can plainly see how parched, dirty and worthless it is. We must return to GOD, join together and do great things. May GOD be with you.
August 22 Everything costs more, everything is more expensive. I do not know how many times I have heard those words throughout my lifetime. It is not just recently that we have become aware of expenses. I could buy a candy bar for 5 cents and it was twice the size of the bars today, when I was young. But there is one thing that has not escalated in cost. In fact, it has remained the same price ever since it was first introduced to the public. The cost of salvation has remained FREE! Perhaps it is because of its price that it is unpopular. But EVERYONE will want it on that day when time becomes nonexistent, it will at that moment become so valuable that no amount of money can buy it. Yet we have that stock available today. Look toward the future, walk on streets of gold! Invest in eternity and it doesn't cost a cent! Salvation remains free to all who come before GOD and accept HIS GIFT. Today many stand in line to receive a worthless trinket, while the line to ETERNAL GLORY is discarded. The cost of bread has risen but the price of the risen remains the same. GOD bless you.
August 21 We hear all the time about the bottom line. What is left for me? How can I increase my bottom line? The world is increasingly chasing a profit, it is chasing the almighty dollar! The question has been asked, "What profits is there if you gain the whole world and lose eternal life?" That dollar does no good when everything costs ten times that! It has become a worthless piece of paper in the realm of spiritual matters. Our nation is under siege by demons that are bent to destroy it. We are going to experience the torment of ridicule for trusting an unseen Spirit. Our nation 'will become a laughing stock to the world and an awesome example to everyone, for everyone to see what happens when the LORD turns against an entire nation in furious rebuke." There is only one thing of TRUE VALUE. One thing that will remain for ETERNITY. As the demons rise to power and remove the past, one thing must remain within us, the priceless BLOOD needs to cover our sins and deliver us from what the world claims as their god. We once TRUSTED GOD, yet now it is the bottom line. How much lower can we sink? Remain steadfast in the GOD of ETERNITY. GOD bless you.
August 20 Our mother was born on August 19th and our father died on August 19. This is a copy of the text that I sent to my sisters that I would like to share with you. "We all have been given the HOPE of ETERNAL LIFE. Some grab ahold of the true WORD and others allow it to vanish from their lives. We are indeed fortunate, to enjoy the richest of inheritance. Our mother was born and our father died on the same numerical day. Even when this life provides coincidences, it was not by chance that we were made! It is not by a lottery that we are saved from the eternal fire. But by the FAITH that was taught us along these travels through it. Are we the ones that will pass along that torch of ETERNAL LIFE to the generations that follow or the ones that snuff it out? It seems so mysterious that our past generation should leave such an impact! Yet we seem to barely cause a ripple on the water. The roadway to the eternal fires is broad, may we who are now the old generation, point the way toward the safety in GOD. We can do so much more. GOD bless you.
August 19 How many times have we heard, "You get what you pay for?" Meaning that if it was cheap, the product turns out to be cheap, you pay more for quality. We can all recall that 'bargain' that fell apart so quickly. Just think of this, JESUS gave HIS LIFE to purchase us. HE gave everything for you and me. We are so valuable to HIM that HE gave everything. Are we worth that price? Are we a 'bargain'? Or did we turn out to be nothing but trash to be thrown into the fire? We should all be saying, JESUS, thank you for dying on the cross for me. Help me to live up to that sacrifice. May I be worthy of the price that YOU PAID. May my service be a gift to YOU for what YOU have done for me. GOD spoke and the world was formed. From the dust HE created us. For our sins HE paid a price. May we be worth that cost. May GOD be with you.
August 18 "Land of pride, you will stumble and fall and no one will raise you up, for the LORD will light a fire in the cities that will burn everything around them." I read the WORD, I know it is true, yet my FAITH must be much smaller than a mustard seed. For if my FAITH were only the size described, I could move mountains by using the of JESUS. But I cannot move even a grain of sand! Weak and fragile I am worthless, puny and fearful I am nothing. Yet HE made me, HE chose to make me as I am. I can only be thankful for all I have been given. My PRAISE is to GOD alone, and HIS SON, who provided a way for this worthless being to live within THEIR care forever. Nothing that I have done warrants that salvation. By the skin of my teeth, I am justified to bow before HIM as the lowest of servants. HIS love for us knows no bounds, but HIS anger allows nothing to remain standing. My job is filled with fear, my FAITH needs to grow. Each must look within and determine the outlook ahead; may you preserve the FAITH the size of the smallest of seeds and let it grow. GOD bless you.
August 17 The owner of some land that I watch over, has built a large pond on it. And while we have been recently been receiving rains, it is fun for Druvel and I to watch as it rises after each rain. From just a puddle to reaching a point where the water made it over a high spot it gets larger. It is also exciting to watch as the world reaches its point of fullness. The wicked becoming more wicked and those that choose to have FAITH drawing others from the brink of disaster. These times are not a story or a fable, but have been written long ago! We are now witnesses to those words. Just as the pond is filling with water, the world is reaching the point of fullness. We do not know the time or the hour, but we can see the signs as the tides are reaching the overflow. May we be ready for that approaching day that is on our horizon. May GOD bless you.
August 16 Yesterday I had the great fortune to help 2 Amish boys get set up with bows. They were excited and very quick learners as they paid close attention to the safety and instructions that were given. It took a few changes in the bows and they were hitting the target with regularity. I had to leave earlier than I wanted because one of my former hunters was attending class to join the Church and be baptized today. It is great to watch them grow up from youth and become men in their communities. There are changes taking place everywhere and soon a whole new cutch of hunters will filter by. I just hope that as they go, they will carry with them the lessons about how much GOD has provided. For not all the teaching is about hunting, much is about our relationship with GOD and HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. The fruit is maturing and the yield is great. Let anything that we do, be for the GLORY of GOD. The fields are ripe and ready for harvest anywhere. May GOD bless you, and allow you to pass along the WORDS of LIGHT where ever you have the fortune of being. HE lives everywhere we are, if we ignore HIM, why should HE stand for us? GOD bless you.
August 15 When my dog Druvel rides in the atv with me, he loves to bite at the weeds and leaves as they pass the window. Just like I did when I was young, grabbing at the leaves and tall weeds as my uncle drove the tractor. The other day he was trying to grab at the tall grass so excitedly he fell out of the vehicle. And wouldn't you know he landed right in a large beggars lice bush! He didn't know what to do as the fur was all stuck together and felt different as he moved. It took us 3 or 4 days to get the stickers out and now he is very careful when riding and nipping at the things as we pass by. Just like we would do, we get caught up in the excitement and fall overboard into the sin and get entangled by it. At first, it is weird feeling but we get accustomed to it and then it is more exciting until we have become totally covered! Thank GOD that when we seek HIM, we will find HIM. And the earnest search will result in our cleansing. And just like Druvel, we can learn to stay clear of the sin that will entrap us. How awful he looked when covered with those stickers, how terrible we must look covered in sin. JESUS died to clean away our sin. No matter how covered we may be, when we earnestly search for HIM, WE WILL FIND HIM. It then may surprise us to notice that HE was close all the time! Just as Druvel looks so good and white when clean, we too can be pure through our FAITH and TRUST in GOD. God bless you.
August 14 When we are young, we do what we want. Sometimes we ignore all the warning signs and indulge in what pleases us. I doubt that anyone has followed the correct path throughout their lives. When we become older, perhaps because our day of reckoning is closer, we see ahead what we failed to recognize in our youth. "I turned away from GOD but I was sorry afterwards. I kicked myself for my stupidity. I was thoroughly ashamed of all I did in younger days." Those words of Jeremiah so long ago are prevalent to us even today and into the future of mankind. As long as people recognize the LAWS of GOD that are WRITTEN in our HEARTS and turn to obeying them instead of ignoring that feeling of right and wrong, those words will continue to enrich, and convict. For the new contract was inscribed within our hearts, so that we would want to HONOR and be GOD'S PEOPLE. Our choices lead us toward or away from HIM. Follow the ways that the SPIRIT of GOD leads and leave self behind. The ways ahead are worth the task. God bless you.
August 13 It is always exciting to begin reading the New Testament again. After finishing the Book of Revelation and all the warnings that are given of our impending future. The exciting story of the LORD'S beginning life upon this earth was bound by the tragedy's invoked by king Herod, the first to attempt to silence the New King of all Creation. Yet the warnings are evident in chapter 3 of our pending futures, with their words. "And even now the axe of GOD'S judgement is poised to chop down every unproductive tree. They will be chopped and burned." The same theme is told through out the BIBLE, repent and turn to GOD. That same message tickles at our hearts today. It remains our choice to reject or receive. To wander in darkness or receive the LIGHT. Should you not know what the darkness looks like, just turn on the news! Will we be judged any better than Sodom and Gamora? Listen to what GOD has laid upon your heart and react, for GOD is among us.
August 12 "And when the time comes, all doing wrong will do it more and more, the vile will become more vile." Do you think that the problems in this world are just by happenstance? That the wild fires, earth quakes or wars are 'just occuring'? These days have been scheduled to occur long before our birth, they were written long ago. Even the phrase, "There is nothing new under the sun" was written by King Soloman and it was true long before his time! But the coming of the LORD JESUS was told about long before it happened, but it came to pass in the days of Herod. The 2nd coming has also been written and we are the witness of those things that occur before that great event. Those that cannot see the signs are unaware and remain in the thought that 'everything will continue as it always has'. The 2nd coming will happen! To some a glorious and happy moment. To many a surprise and shock, as a thief in the night. Which will it be for you? Are your robes washed and spotless, prepared for that day? May the GRACE of our LORD JESUS CHRIST be with you all.
August 11 I was at a race the other night where the silver crown cars of USAC were competing in a 100-lap championship. There were 18 cars that started and one by one they fell from failures until only 3 finished the race! If the rest had prepared diligently, they would have finished no worse than 4th. Just as the WORD of GOD tells us, that 'few find the way' even when the entire world is in the 'race'. "Cursed is the man who puts trust in mortal man and turns his heart away from GOD." The lack of preparation, to make it to the end of the race, had caused most to fall by the way side and not reach the glorious end. If we are not prepared for Christs return, we too will not compete to the end. Our hopes will be dashed because we had failed to prepare for the end; we were only ready at the start. Look ahead toward the finish line, we must make it all the way or be part of the attrition that suffers a great loss from unpreparedness. May we each keep the finish line in sight and prepare for the celebration when we have completed our race. GOD bless you.
August 10 Each time that I reach the last BOOK of the BIBLE, I am excited to read and be a witness to what has developed in this world from when I read it last. This nation has developed a third political party of people calling themselves democratic socialist. They have been teaching it to our children for years and have chosen now to be their time! The middle east has erupted into more fighting over 'religous' matters and the crude oil under its sandy environment. The world has changed dramatically in the 250 years since our nation's proclamation! From horse back to self driving cars, with the vision of the Jetsons on the horizon. Disturbance and unrest prevail, but these words remain. "For GOD has put a plan into their minds, a plan that will carry out HIS purpose.. so that the WORDS of GOD will be fulfilled." Do not be deceived by man's words, grab ahold of the WORD of GOD. Once again, those that can see are witness to the fulfillment of GOD'S WORD. The blind will see the coming of the LORD and be shocked at HIS judgement. May each of our eyes be open to HIS return. GOD bless you.
August 9 I don't know about where you live but I am noticing the birds congregating on the electric lines as if there was coming an early fall. "The stork knows the time of her migration, as does the turtle dove and the crane and the swallow. They all return in GOD'S appointed time each year, but not my people! They do not accept the laws of GOD." "Let this encourage GOD'S people to endure patiently every trial and persecution, for they are HIS SAINTS who remain firm to the end in obedience to HIS COMMANDS and TRUST JESUS." As nature once again shows us how to be responsive to GOD, let us learn from them how to TRUST and FOLLOW the LORD of all CREATION. GOD bless you.
August 8 Pot metal. We know it because it holds things together or forms a helpful item. But when it breaks it cannot be repaired, it is useless and is thrown away. The BIBLE tells us that we are refined through fire. The heat causes the impurities to separate and then the dross or impurity can be taken out, leaving the metal purer. Our lives are like the metals of our souls; we are tested and purified throughout our days of life. The pure become better and the little 'good metal' within us becomes pure. But, the pot metal melts and becomes a blob, useless. The FAITH within us reacts to form metal of value. Those without that FAITH remain a living body until broken, when there is no repair, it like pot metal is taken to the trash. Inexpensive and cheap, the pot metal is worthless in value. Make sure that you retain the value that you were made with. Accept the refining fires of life and pass through the fires more refined. Become the valuable person that we are made to become, leaving all inpuritys behind. GOD bless you.
August 7 Just the other day I saw a map of the United States as the news was reporting on wild fires around the nation. As they showed the map, it appeared that over a third of north and south America were covered in wild fires. The first thought that I had was when the first angel gives a blast on the trumpet, 'fire and blood were thrown down upon the earth. One third of the earth was set on fire, so that one third of the trees were burned and all the green grass.' We are warned again and again to return to GOD our MAKER or suffer the punishment. Jeremiah reports GOD'S WORD as. 'I have plead for you to return to me and will keep on pleading, yes even with your children's children in the years to come'. One day the warnings will cease, the WORD again will become reality, the trumpet blast will continue, marking the end. May our eyes be open to witness the facts and not be hiding in darkness. May GOD bless as these days pass in either unbelief or TRUST, that our heart is open to the TRUTHS in the WORD. GOD be with us.
August 6 "I will send great troubles upon them, all the things they feared, for when I called them, they refused to answer and when I spoke to them, they would not hear. Instead, they did wrong before MY eyes and chose what they knew I despised." Those words that were written in the Old Testament, have remained true in today's times. We cannot reach the GLORY of GOD'S KINGDOM by halfhearted following. For the larger 'half' will draw us away! Some may be saved by 'the skin of their teeth', but not those of us that know the TRUTH and chose those things of this world over GOD. Through all our sin, HE has the choice to save or reject! We cannot pull the wool over HIS eyes! Who among us can induce GOD to do what HE does not want to do? We can NEVER be 'good enough' we are far to tainted. By FAITH we are redeemed. Washed clean. Not by deeds or we would boast, but by the FAITH that produces the WORK of CHRIST in us. Halfhearted we will never enter HIS HOME. Turn to HIM completely, that is the only way to enter. May GOD bless you.
August 5 "For the time is near when these things will all come true." And at last, even a simple question draws scoffing from those that are without faith! The days that right is wrong and wrong is right, have ascended upon us with little notice and certainly no fanfare. Yet the world jumps aboard the wagon, and cries, 'let's go'! Even some of the elites are following the wagon train bound toward the pit! And doesn't the BIBLE say that is exactly the way the end times will be? Little by little the darkness overtakes, many do not even notice. The ones that do, are proclaimed mad, insanely into the BOOK. Hasn't the world remained the same forever, they ask. Deliberately overlooking a great flood and the destruction of Sodom and Gamora, because of the same sins that the world today is guilty of. You may rely on mans 'wisdom' or the WORD of GOD for the guide of the events ahead. But it is clear that the future has been written. May GOD be in your heart and on the lips of the chosen, whose name is written in the LAMBS BOOK of LIFE. Today is but another step toward the GLORIOUS return of the LORD. Prepare the way ahead. August 4 Yesterday I asked a waiter at a restaurant, what the cross on the chain around his neck meant to him. He shrugged his shoulders and I told him what the cross meant to me. A lady at the checkout counter said that it was personal and asked if I was, 'some sort of preacher'? Ha, it amazes me that a cross would be worn around our neck and we would either have no idea what it meant or was unwilling to share the meaning it has for us. Yes, it is personal, JESUS died for you! HE also died for me and that fellow behind the counter. CHRIST died so that I could live, should I keep it a secret? Is it only a pastor that can share the GOOD NEWS or ask what a symbol represents? What a testimony, to have another give HIS life for us! I laugh at the question, are you some sort of preacher, when the question was, 'what does that mean to you'? Perhaps I should be glad for that question? If we have no idea what the cross represents, why would we wear it? When in truth, nearly anyone knows what that cross means! It is our own self that chooses to OBEY and FOLLOW or defy the GOD that made us. Which do you choose today?
August 3 We often ask those we meet, 'How are you'? And almost always the answer is 'good'. Even when our life may be in terrible trouble, we answer, good. We hold back our true pains or excitements and answer that same word. Is there anything in our lives that shows that we love and trust GOD? Or is the only thing that even hints everlasting peace a one word reply that is so easily accepted? We do not know what it is like to give up everything for CHRIST. We hold back what we love or want to keep for ourselves. But CHRIST has given HIS all for US, HE held back nothing in HIS attempt to save us. We have to give HIM a reply, our lives are an open book to HIM. Our actions, our words reflect the value of our lives. CHRIST has set the example; all we need to do is follow. How are you doing today? With GOD every day is a good day. GOD bless you.
August 2 I had received the news that my last remaining uncle, on my mother's side, was admitted to the hospital. When we visited him last year, although strong in mind and spirit, his body was weak. I recall him saying that he was ready to go home. The days that he took me trout fishing or we hunted on the family farm remain vivid in my mind. And although the world may lose another soul, the HEAVENS will gain. It is hard to be sad when a person has lived a life with so great a service and knows the gain ahead. But for the majority of mankind the peace that would be ahead is but terror! Many have not or are choosing not to prepare the way ahead. For those my heart saddens. For CHRIST has died that all who would come to HIM would be saved. Yet, like dodgeball mankind ducks and jumps away, avoiding contact with the very one that gives LIFE. Please, do not turn your back when the LORD calls upon you. Eternity is but a moment away, the time to prepare is now. May GOD be given the opportunity to enter each heart, changing the fear of death into the JOY of being HOME at last. GOD bless you.
August 1st Our salvation, our eternal joy, is through FAITH alone. Each day that we fail to have FAITH in JESUS, the SON of GOD, we are driving the nails deeper into HIS hands and feet. Our DISBELIEF is the sin that DESTROYS US. And as we fail to believe, we encourage others to bypass the only road to HEAVENLY salvation. The nation of Israel wandered through the desert; we wander through life. The nation of GOD seperated themselves and today a nation formed 'under God' does the same. Wandering as sheep without a shepherd, putting our 'FAITH' in what we can see or hear and trusting only in our own puny body's. In a moment failure comes upon us, we are stranded and depressed. Life can bring us to frustration. Our salvation is through FAITH in GOD alone, anything else is wandering. GOD bless you.
July 31 Today there are more people worried that they may not have cell phone reception or battery charge than they are about eternity! Most people could care less about how or who runs our government until they disagree with it! As once stated, all it takes for evil to overtake is good men doing nothing. It has become too easy for men to sit idly by and complain! The highways are crowded with automobiles even when complaining about the costs! We have grown to complain and yet do nothing, even neglecting our eternal life! While good men do nothing, evil works hard. Drawing on those who do not care and providing a theme. While the men of GOD stand silent. Is that what GOD'S WORD tells us? To be meek and humble and silent? Our thoughts are to be on what is TRUE. FAITHFUL and ETERNAL. Our voice needs to commit to those words. It is time to stand as men and not follow as sheep led to slaughter. May GOD'S WORD be on our lips and in our hearts. GOD bless you.
July 30 "The world staggers, like a drunkard, it shakes like a tent in a storm." "But my heart is heavy with grief, for evil still prevails and treachery is everywhere." Judgement begins with GOD'S own. And if even they must be judged, what terrible fate awaits those that have never believed in the LORD or those that only trust HIM when times are good? "If the righteous are barely saved, what chance will the godless have?" Half faith is of no value. Living as a part of the world is only a condemnation to eternal death. Full commitment is required; halfhearted following will not due. As we enter an uncertain tomorrow, we can be assured today of our SAVIOURS ability to save. Those who are lost may come, those who are doomed will be rescued. Only through FAITH will our sins be vanished and forgotten. There remains only ONE road to GOD that is with JESUS the SON of GOD. The choice is now, tomorrow is uncertain. May GOD bless you.
July 29 The nation of Israel has been on the news every day for quite a while. Have you noticed anything strange when the camera scans across the landscape? I notice the lack of greenery, the trees and grass that we enjoy here. There is not shown the rich earth and pasture lands, generally we view only populated cities and dusty barren landscapes. Where is the land of milk and honey? And land rich with the promise of GOD? Have the people turned away from GOD to the point that HE took away the rains that provide the soils with growth? We have our land of milk and honey visible every day and yet our hearts are turning away from GOD to the sounds that our 'itching ears' want to hear. How long will GOD supply the soil we depend on with rains, before HE holds them back from yet another 'undeserving people'? GOD has made promises to us that hold a condition, if we fail at our end, HE will stop what HE is providing. I have not noticed that man can 'make it rain' but we sure have destruction down! Will we turn away from GOD and watch our 'heaven on earth' turn to desert? Our nations FAITH in GOD determines the outcome. You determine the FUTURE by YOUR FAITH and ACTIONS. GOD be with us.
July 28 What is there that we are afraid of? The Boggie man under the bed has paled the older we become. The fears that we once had are past. The fearful thoughts that once made our knees weak have become but a memory. Far too often the fear of hell has been watered down or turned into a fairy tale instead of the truth! We have deadened our minds to the reality that the BIBLE shows. Our mouths have not explained the terrors of eternal separation from GOD. Our minds have gone faint to the dramatic scene ahead. But unlike a horror movie, the future ahead holds the disaster beyond comprehension. Awake to the true terror that awaits those that fail to TRUST GOD and what is required by HIS SPIRIT that resides within us. Awaken to the terror that awaits those that do not trust the LIVING GOD. The nightmare has yet to begin, be safe in the LORD. May GOD bless you and protect you with the knowledge within HIS WORD.
July 27 I remember that when I raced go-karts that we would race just inches apart. Then when I raced stock cars it seemed like the drivers would go out of their way to hit you. It was very aggravating! In this life it seems like many things are against us. We are like the salmon swimming upstream; many never make it! And along the way we have satan that goes along side bumping us where we do not want to or should not go! Once when racing, I had made up 4 car lengths on the leader and was about to pass him coming off turn 4. We both had to pass a slower car and he went low and I went high. When the low car went pass, the lapped car swerved higher and crashed me into the wall. My eye was on winning or at least 2nd but I ended 12th! Satan leads the chaos and we, if not paying attention, are just along for the ride and that ride may not end very well. With all the traffic and swerving we need a pilot that knows the way to the finish line, and put our FAITH in HIM, on our own we will crash. Turn the wheel of this life over to the MASTER, relying on others often ends in a crash. GOD bless you.
July 26 As July nears its end, my thoughts turn toward the fall and the hunting season that approaches. Deer license goes on sale August 15 and my grandson and I usually take up alot of the salemans time getting just the right licences that we want. How we look forward to the coming fall. Just as CHRIST has promised HIS return. We can see that day approaching. Our preparation has begun, our outlook intensifies. The coming sighs are prevalent around us, as the day approaches. What a joy there will be when the reunion is complete, the MASTER with HIS flock. As the day draws nearer the excitement multiplies until, finally, it is here. Other times are waited for but only one is eternal. May each of us be anticipating the day that the HEAVENS are opened and the eternal KING OF KINGS appears across the horizon and not be in shock or fear. The day of salvation is at hand, with no license required, only FAITH. GOD bless you.
July 25 Several things occurred to me as I was reading this morning. We are to see the way GOD does things and fall in line with them. Don't fight the facts of nature. Enjoy prosperity when it comes and find the best in life when hard times hit. Each day there are times we want to curse, but when we thank GOD instead, they will flee. Because GOD does not punish us instantly when we sin, we think we 'got away with it', we didn't! No one can hold back their spirit from departing; no one can stop death. We all have the obligation to return to dust at our appointed time. We do not know when that may be, but GOD does! That same obligation confronts the rich, poor, religious or atheist. As unfair, as we may think it is, we all meet one fate, it is what happens a moment after our last breath that makes the difference. Heaven or hell, our eternal destination is determined by our LIFE and FAITH. We are in charge, do not waste the time available. GOD bless you.
July 24 A friend of mine gave me an older muzzle loader to use when the Amish didn't have a gun during hunting season. Yesterday, after giving it a complete cleaning and mounting a scope it was time to sight it in. After many combinations of bullets and sabots and powder charges it didn't do what I wanted it to do. Finally, we hit the right combination and it shot straight and true. It was a test of patience and an endurance of will to finally achieve the full potential that the rifle held. That test reminds me of Hebrews 11: 36, "You need to keep on patiently doing GOD'S will if you want HIM to do for you all that HE has promised." We can be like a stubborn gun that shoots in all directions but once we engage with the ONE that made us and do the things we were made to do, we will be one with GOD and go where HE aims. May we receive a complete cleaning with CHRIST'S BLOOD and hit the mark of GOD'S love and what we were made to do. GOD bless you.
July 23 Take a moment and think of how many times your life was close to ending. For myself I can quickly think of 5 different opportunities that death was cheated. Perhaps you have more! From accidents, sickness, wars or just plain stupid stuff, we have all excaped from an early demise. Some way more than others! Has the reason that you are still here among the living sunk into your mind yet? GOD has kept us alive for the sole purpose of telling others about the GRACIOUS act of HIS SON'S death to save us! Simply growing to the age we are, took an act of GOD. If we are not doing what we are made for, then what value are we? Like a broken vessel with no value, we are thrown away. There is something in this life that you were made to do, do NOT be a vessel to be thrown into the trash. You are a valuable asset when you do what GOD intended. We all have a message to tell of the things GOD has done, tell them. GOD bless you.
July 22 Perhaps you have heard the old saying, "Spare the rod and spoil the child." When I was young, I heard that many times, especially when the 'bamboo stick' was applied to my back side. It may have seemed a hopeless project to my parents, but they haven't lived long enough to see the end result. These is also a proverb that says, "Teach a child to choose the right path and when he is older, he will remain upon it." Today we witness parents raising their offspring to have no direction or path. We want them to be our friend. Instead of teaching, we play, as we also have no path! Thank GOD that there had been times of learning, even when it was hard to teach and times of applying the 'bamboo stick' to 'knock some sense into me'. It may have not produced instant results, but today I am better for it. Raise a child in the right path, the future will thank you. GOD bless you.
July 21 My sister was recently allowed to return home after being evacuated by one of Colorados largest fires to date. They returned to a standing house that hardly retained any smell of smoke! And if the electric power had not been interrupted would have had no loss at all. While the fires had destroyed many around them they were spared! Just like GOD had delivered the three from the blazing furnace, we witness GOD'S miracles again and again. "For the ANGELS are SPIRIT messengers sent out to help and care for those who are to receive his salvation." She said that in all the sorrow that she felt guilty of happiness, yet many will perish and only a few will receive eternal joy! The wonders of the Living GOD will never cease. The joy of escaping the pits of hell are everlasting. The torment, never ceasing! Thank GOD for the signs that prove, to those who believe, HIS mighty and everlasting POWER. As nothing and as worthless as we remain, HE loves us. Do not allow your heart to be hardened by the ways and talk of the world. May GOD become your LORD. GOD bless you.
July 20 The last time I sent a message this early my cousin responded with, 'it isn't even time to milk the cows yet'. It is going to be a busy day today, so I had to get an early start. But I am unwilling to not read GOD'S WORDS or pass along HIS message, so I am sorry for the early ringing of your phone. It has been said that 'early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise', so in our wisdom, let us understand the proverb that states, "The hope of good men is eternal happiness, the hope of evil men are all in vain." We can put our trust in anything other than GOD, but it will all be useless, of no lasting value! When we take our last breath and we meet the MAKER of LIFE and have to explain why we did it our way, let our answer not be of no value. "For when an evil man dies, his hopes all perish, for they are based upon this earthly life." Use the wisdom of this day to know the path forward and walk that direction. May GOD be with you and bless you. May the promise of HEAVENLY values enrich this day as we walk toward those gates to eternal life.
July 19 It has become the norm for people to stay home or do recreational things on Sunday instead of going to Church. We can worship GOD just as much at home they would say. But, for the most part they forget or become consumed with worldly matters. Unab
